Weatherford International (NYSE: WFT  ) is going through an identity crisis of sorts that I'm surprised hasn't raised some legal red flags or caused more concern on Wall Street. The company maintains its main operational office in Houston, was formerly legally based in Bermuda, moved to Switzerland in 2009, and now seeks the greener pastures of Ireland to operate at lower costs and further attract top talent. What's going on here? Is Weatherford gaming the system, or�is it�possibly hiding something? One thing's for sure, this is perfectly legal but something sure doesn't smell right since tax shelters are increasingly being vilified in political circles here in the�United States. Ireland has also been under pressure to make�its tax structures harder to abuse by multinational corporations.�

The oil services player has been looking to capitalize on the favorable tax structure that�the Swiss have benefited for years and years. With greater international scrutiny of Swiss tax laws as well as top executive and board member pay, Weatherford is now hoping to incorporate in Ireland while maintaining its tax domicile in Switzerland. Keep in mind that�tech companies like Apple, Google, and even Facebook�all take advantage of Ireland's favorable tax rate environment. That doesn't make it right for Weatherford to follow�the same�path.�

    Shares of Tiffany & Co. (TIF) were down on Friday morning after the company reported a net loss and a weak outlook.�

    TIF’s Earnings in Brief

    TIF posted a Q4 net loss of�$103.6 million or 81 cents per share, compared to net income of $179.64 million, or $1.40 per share, a year ago.� Excluding special items, earnings were�$1.47 per share, compared to $1.40 per share last year. Revenue increased to�$1.3 billion from $1.235 billion last year. On average, analysts expected to see earnings of $1.52 per share and $1.31 billion in revenue. Looking forward, the company expects to see FY2014 earnings between�$4.05 and $4.15 per share, while analysts expect to see FY2014 earnings of $4.28 per share.

    TIF’s Repurchase Plan

    The company also reported that its board has authorized a new stock buy back program. The new program authorizes $300 million in common stock and will expire on March 31, 2017.

    TIF declared its last 34 cent quarterly dividend on February 20. The dividend will be payable on April 10 and went ex-dividend on March 18. We expect TIF to declare its next dividend in May.

    From a technical perspective, VIPS soared sharply higher here right off some near-term support at $42.50 with heavy upside volume. This move pushed shares of VIPS into breakout territory, since the stock took out some near-term overhead resistance levels at $45 to $45.27 with high volume. Shares of VIPS are now quickly moving within range of triggering another big breakout trade. That trade will hit if VIPS manages to take out Monday's intraday high of $48.40 and then once it clears its all-time high at $50.43 with high volume.

    Traders should now look for long-biased trades in VIPS as long as it's trending above $45 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 645,972 shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then VIPS will set up to enter new all-time high territory above $50.43, which is bullish technical price action. Some possible upside targets off that breakout are $55 to $57.

Van Kampen Dynamic Credit Opportunities Fund (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund focuses to invest primarily in loan and debt instruments (and loan-related or debt-related instruments) (collectively, credit securities) of issuers that operate in a variety of industries and geographic regions located throughout the world. The Fund's investment adviser is Van Kampen Asset Management (the Adviser). The Fund's investment subadviser is Avenue Europe International Management, L.P. (the Subadviser).

    If you're worried about rising interest rates then Invesco Dynamic Credit Opportunities, ticker (VTA), invests in below investment-grade floating rate bank loans. In other words, these are called senior loans.

    They're bank loans that adjust their payouts based on prevailing interest rates, so if interest rates go up, these loans will pay higher dividends, so this is a good hedge if you are concerned about rising interest rates.

    Another one that's really performed, and it's paying a 6.9% yield right now, Guggenheim Strategic Opportunities, ticker (GOF), that's actually Claymore Guggenheim, holds corporate and government backed, that it's mostly investment-grade and it's paying a 10.1% yield right now, which is pretty high. It has a distribution of 6.8%, none of which was ROC. The fund has 350 holdings, virtually all in senior loans and from US companies. PPR utilizes 29% leverage and has a high expense ratio of 2.1%, including interest payments. Invesco VK Dynamic Credit Opportunities (VTA). This CEF sells for a discount of 5%, which is below the average discount of 1%. It has a distribution of 7.1%, none of which was ROC. The fund has 495 holdings, with 76% in floating rate loans. About 25% of the loans are from non-US companies. VTA utilizes a relatively low 20% leverage but still has a high expense ratio of 2.1%, including interest payments. Invesco VK Senior Income (VVR). This CEF sells for a discount of 1%, which is below the average premium of 3%. It has a distribution of 7.1%, none of which was ROC. The fund has over 500 holdings, with 89% in floating rate loans.
